The Congregation of St. Basil Celebrates the Ordination to the Priesthood of Fr. Alejandro Estrada Pérez, CSB and José Alberto Juárez Sandoval, CSB

January 9, 2019

The Congregation of St. Basil gathered in Tehuacán, Puebla, México, at the parish of San Lorenzo Diácono y Mártir to celebrate the ordination to the priesthood of Fr. Alejandro Estrada Pérez, CSB and José Alberto Juárez Sandoval, CSB on Saturday, January 5, 2019. In the presence of many of their Basilian confrères, Basilian associates, hundreds of parishioners, their parents, siblings, and other family members, they were ordained by Bishop Ricardo Ramírez, CSB.

Enhancing the celebration were dozens of musicians, all of whom wore red shirts emblazoned with the Basilian crest, and several young women and men serving as acolytes. A fiesta was held afterwards, animated by a very talented mariachi band with superb singers.

Basilians from Colombia, North America, and México gathered for communal, parochial and familial celebrations, including four members of the General Council: Fr. Kevin Storey, CSB, Fr. John Huber, CSB, Fr. Dennis Noelke, CSB and Fr. Morgan Rice, CSB.

On Sunday, January 6, the feast of the Epiphany, Fr. Alejandro Estrada Pérez, CSB celebrated his first mass with his newly ordained brother Fr. José Alberto Juárez Sandoval, CSB at his side (who will celebrate his first official mass on January 13, 2019.)

Fr. Alejandro Estrada Pérez, CSB will continue to minister at San Lorenzo Parish, while Fr. José Alberto Juárez Sandoval, CSB will return to Cali to continue his year of ministry at Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion Parish.
