St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish Bids Farewell to Fr. Morgan Rice, CSB

June 9, 2017

St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish bids farewell to Fr. Morgan Rice, CSB as he prepared to move to Toronto, Ontario for his appointment to St. Basil’s Catholic Parish. On Saturday, May 20, the Parish staff gifted Fr. Rice a clock and pen set and sock of the month club. On Monday, June 5, St. Kateri School students, faculty and staff shared their memories of the Fr. Rice during morning prayer; some favourites included Fr. Rice greeting students as St. Nicholas on the feast day, teaching line dancing, and blessing the animals on the Feast of St. Francis. Faith formation catechists and volunteers held a dessert social on June 5. On Sunday, June 4, following the annual Pentecost celebration, parishioners lined up for four hours to say their good byes.

He was appointed to St. Kateri Tekakwitha in Rochester, New York as Deacon in July 2009 and following his ordination in November 2009 he served as the Parochial Vicar for eight years.
