Basilians Fathers Host Vocation Retreat in Houston, Texas

The Basilian Fathers welcomed four young men who were interested in exploring a vocation to religious life in Houston, Texas. The Basilian Fathers of Keon House and the Scholasticate in Houston, Texas hosted a vocation retreat from Friday, March 2 to Saturday, March 3 in Keon House at the University of St. Thomas. The four candidates came to know the Basilians in a variety of ways, with one journeying from as far away as Rochester, New York. In a relaxed atmosphere, Father Jeff Thompson, CSB facilitated discussion on the priesthood and religious life and Eduardo Rivera, CSB spoke on the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Father Chris Valka, CSB presented on the uniqueness of the Basilian community. Members of the Scholasticate and Keon House were present throughout the retreat to provide wide smiles, howling laughter, and supplemental discussion points. The candidates enjoyed their time and expressed interest in the Basilian associate program.
