Basilian Fathers Celebrate the Priestly Ordination of Father Antonio Ibáñez Santos, CSB
January 17, 2022

On Saturday, January 8, 2022, The Congregation of St. Basil celebrated the priestly ordination of Father Antonio Ibáñez Santos, CSB. Mons. Gonzalo Alonzo Calzada Guerrero presided at the Mass of Ordination, held at the Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción in Tehuacán, Puebla, México.
“The ordination took place in the beautiful cathedral in Tehuacán, and it’s beauty added to the solemnity and joy of the event. Most of the many men in formation for the Basilian Fathers in Mexico were present, including seven novices and several scholastics” said Father John Huber, CSB.
Ibáñez Santos professed his final vows to the Congregation on Saturday, July 3, 2021 in the chapel of the Hermanas Instituto de Coadjutoras del Apostolado Social (ICAS) in Ocotlán, Tlaxcala, Mexico and was ordained to the diaconate on Sunday, August 1 2021 at Parroquia San Lorenzo in Tehuacán.
He spent his pastoral year ministering in the parish of San Lorenzo and Tehuacán, and now as a newly ordained priest, Father Antonio Ibáñez Santos will be ministering sacramentally in the same parish.
“Antonio has been faithful, humble, and consistent in his hard work and dedication to the religious life over the past years of his formation. Undoubtedly, he will continue his dedication and humility as an ordained Basilian priest” remarked Father John Huber, CSB.
