Assumption University is one of the most historic Roman Catholic institutions of higher learning in Canada. It was founded in 1857 and is federated with the University of Windsor. In 1934 Father Stanley Murphy, CSB founded the Christian Culture Series to bring great scholars, artists, politicians, and social activists to Windsor. The lecture series still continues and attracts well-known figures from North America and Europe.
Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute at Assumption University is a Catholic academic institute that studies the moral questions that arise in clinical practice and biomedical research. Launched in 2014, it is a leader in issues of Catholic bioethics in the Windsor/Essex community.
