Basilian Scholastics Receive Minor Ministries in Mexico

On November 20, four Basilian scholastics took an important step in their formation journey as they received their Minor Ministries. Father René Espejel, CSB presided over the installation ceremony at the Chapel of Violetas Provincial House in Puebla, Mexico. The entire Basilian community that ministers in Mexico, including priests, novices and associates, was in attendance as Javier de la Rosa Luna, CSB, Alejandro Estrada Pérez, CSB, Arturo Juan Jerónimo-Cisneros, CSB, and José Alberto Juárez Sandoval, CSB were installed as Ministers of the Acolyte. The Acolyte is instituted to serve at the altar and to assist the priest and deacon. In particular, it is his responsibility to prepare the altar and the sacred vessels and, if necessary, act as an extraordinary minister and distribute the Eucharist to the faithful.
