Fr. Norman Tanck, CSB, Celebrates 50 Years of Priesthood – Rochester, NY.

Yesterday Fr. Norman Tanck, CSB returned to Rochester, NY., to celebrate 50 years of dedication to priestly life and ministry. He was ordained a priest on April 20, 1974, and spent many years at St. John Fisher University in various positions, ranging from Deacon to Dean of Student Life and Superior of the Basilian community.
Fr. Paul English, CSB, Fr. Kevin Mannara, CSB, and Fr. Tom Dugan, CSB, joined in celebration.

Originally from Irondequoit, New York, and a St. John Fisher Alumni (1967), he joined the novitiate for the Basilian Fathers, was ordained as a priest in 1974, and engaged in campus ministry at St. John Fisher as an academic counselor for student services, and in 1985, as dean of student life and superior of the Basilian community until 1989.

Fr. Tanck Also served as the director of campus ministry at Nazareth College and St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto.

Currently Fr. Tanck is appointed as rector of Frassati House in Toronto, and serves as associate pastor at St. Basil’s Church, coordinator of the Toronto Basilian Lay Associates, and director for men entering the Congregation.

Dear Lord, we pray that you bless and grant many more years of faithful service to Fr. Norman, as he continues his sacred journey, guiding and inspiring your people with love, wisdom, and compassion. Amen.
