Merry Christmas: A Season of Peace and Love in the Basilian Community

December 21, 2023

Christmas Day for Basilians is more than just a time of gift-giving and decorations. The Christmas story is marked by themes of love, humility, and charity. Catholics are reminded to emulate the example set by Jesus Christ, who came into the world as a vulnerable child, born in humble circumstances. This inspires believers to cultivate a spirit of selflessness and generosity, and this day is a commemoration of His Birth.

Our Retired Basilians gather to celebrate Christmas together at Presentation Manor, Toronto, ON.

During this special time of year, our Basilian communities in Canada, The United States, Colombia & Mexico come together to create a thriving environment for joy and peace, reflecting on the love and unity that Christ’s birth inspires. Families attend Christmas Mass led by Basilians, and community celebrations reinforce the sense of our shared faith.

Father Patrick Fulton, CSB, celebrates an all school Mass at Catholic Central High School in Novi, MI.
.

During this time of rejoicing, Basilians, and all Christians are encouraged to be instruments of hope in their communities and to work towards justice, reconciliation, and compassion.
