Fr. Dennis Noelke CSB Honored at Catholic Central Alumni Dinner for Lifetime of Service

More than 200 alumni, faculty, and friends of Catholic Central came together at St. Mary’s Cultural Center in Livonia for the annual Alumni Dinner. Among the evening’s highlights was the recognition of Fr. Dennis Noelke, CSB ’71, as one of this year’s recipients of the Fr. Canning F. Harrison, CSB Distinguished Alumni Award.
The award, named after beloved Basilian educator and former Catholic Central principal Fr. Canning F. Harrison, CSB, honors alumni who embody the values of academic excellence, service, and leadership that Fr. Harrison championed.

Fr. Noelke has exemplified those qualities throu ghout more than four decades of service as a Basilian priest and educator. A graduate of the Class of 1971, he returned to Catholic Central as a teacher and later served as principal, continuing the Basilian tradition of forming young men in goodness, discipline, and knowledge.
His contributions have extended far beyond the classroom. Fr. Noelke has served in university chaplaincy and held leadership roles within the Congregation of St. Basil, helping shape both educational institutions and religious communities. His quiet dedication and thoughtful guidance have touched the lives of countless students, faculty, and fellow Basilians.
Catholic Central is proud to honor Fr. Dennis Noelke, CSB, for a lifetime of faithful service, educational leadership, and spiritual mentorship. His example continues to inspire Shamrocks past and present.
