Cross Raised Atop New Chapel at St. John Fisher College
June 7, 2017

On Tuesday, June 6, the gold-plated copper cross was raised nearly 100 feet and placed atop of the new Hermance Family Chapel of St. Basil the Great at St. John Fisher College. The College community gathered to celebrate this milestone in the Chapel’s construction. The ceremony included remarks by President Gerard J. Rooney, Jack Palvino (a member of the Pioneer Class of 1955), and Deacon Kevin Mannara, CSB who will serve as the College’s director of campus ministry.
The Chapel, expected to open in fall 2017, honours the commitment of the Basilian Fathers to the College and will provide the Fisher community with a new center for spiritual life on campus.
