Fr. D’Souza Visits University of St. Thomas to Mark 70th Anniversary

The University of St. Thomas, in celebration of its 70th anniversary of founding by the Basilian Fathers, invited Fr. Mario D’Souza, CSB to its campus in Houston, Texas to share his knowledge and insight in a series of lectures.

On March 8, Fr. D’Souza delivered a lecture based on his recent book, A Catholic Philosophy of Education: The Church and Two Philosophers. The lecture was preceded by a reception hosted by the President’s Office. On March 9, the Initiative for University Excellence hosted a similar lecture for faculty, staff, and students. On March 10, the Center for Thomistic Studies hosted him as part of its CTS Colloquium Series where he presented on his book, Being in the World: A Quotable Maritain Reader. In addition to these presentations, the Doherty Library hosted an exhibit of his books and selected articles in recognition of his contributions.

His visit highlighted the University of St. Thomas’ commitment to its mission of educating leaders of faith and character.
