This #tbt we honor and remeber Fr. Jess Owens, CSB, who passed away peacefully on 17 Aug 2025 at 86. A #Basilian for 68 years and a priest for 57, he impacted countless lives with humility, joy, and faith. Known for his warmth, humor, and devotion, he served communities in Canada, Mexico, and Paris. Over 1,000 people attended the funeral proceedings in Tehuacán, a testament to the lives he inspired.

With sadness, we share the passing of our confrere Fr. James Carruthers, CSB, born in Windsor, Ontario, and ordained in 1963. A devoted Basilian educator and scholar, he served in Canada, France, and the U.S., inspiring many through teaching and ministry.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Presentation Manor, Toronto, followed by burial at the Basilian Plot, Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill, Ontario.
