Basilian Scholastics Installed to the Ministry of Acolyte

January 22, 2018

On January 19, Basilian scholastics, Oscar Carbajal García, CSB and Eduardo Ivan Rivera, CSB, were invested with the Minor Ministry of Acolyte, which represents a significant milestone in their journeys towards priesthood.  Father George Smith, CSB, superior general of the Congregation presided over the ceremony held at the Keon House in Houston, Texas. Acolytes are called to assist the priest and deacon at the Altar and to distribute Holy Communion, both at Mass and to the sick. Conferring ministries during formation helps students of the priesthood grow into the life of ministry that they have been called to by God.
